MACK KONISHI

Mack is our CSO and senior macro-analyst with 25-years experience in global capital market strategy and the institutional capital markets of Japan.

Prior to his tenure at Agem, Mack managed hedge fund investments for Ultra High Net Worth clients at a Jersey-based investment boutique. From 2008 to 2014 he was with a highly regarded independent macro-economics consultancy house, Lombard Street Research in London, responsible for the Asian market in a senior managerial position. Mack joined Nikko Securities in 1990, and four years later GNI, a British financial institution specialising in futures and options broking. Mack made GNI the top agency servicing Japanese banks. He left GNI in 2002 to focus on investment advisory, being well versed in both public and private financial communities in Asia-Pacific as well as among European institutions. He regularly writes for economics and investment journals, having had his own column with an institution in Japan over years.

Mack always aspires to be unconventional. Since 2014 he has been invited to give his own unique analysis and comments on global economies, capital markets and politics to one of the largest securities brokerage firms in Japan on a regular basis as well as being a contributor to the thought leadership forum of Agem. Mack studied law at Sophia University in Tokyo.

PETER SOLYMAR

Co-founder and CEO of Agem Capital.

Having gained over 10-years experience in supplying capital market strategies, transaction structuring and corporate management advisory to international growth companies and globally aspiring investment firms, including IPOs on a MiFID-compliant Multilateral Trading Facility in the City of London for 3 years, Peter has developed our institutional IR platform for corporate clients and alternative investment fund managers into a successful global operation since 2015.

Prior to his tenure at Agem, Peter advised on international market expansion of PE-backed technology companies and real estate transactions of institutional asset owners and leading property investment funds in Central East Europe as well as on UHNWI portfolios in the UK.

Peter studied economics in Hungary and international relations with the University of London.


MIAO YANG

Miao is the Managing Partner of Agem Capital Group in Greater China.

A native Beijinger, Miao Yang has been co-founder and President of Shenzhen Qianhai Hwa Sheng Tai Investments Ltd.(深圳前海华盛泰股权投资有限公司), a private equity investment firm focused on pre-IPO opportunities in China since its inception in 2015. From 2013 until 2014, Miao was consultant of China First Capital Fund, focused on Chinese and European cross-border M&A transactions. Miao Yang was an investment banker, co-founder and CEO of Aegis Asia Capital Corp. and Mass Harmony Asset Management Ltd. from 2006 until 2013, with specific focus on providing strategic, financial advisory and fund-raising services to China-based companies seeking investments in and access to U.S. capital markets including by reverse mergers, IPOs and Nasdaq-listed SPACs among other sophisticated corporate finance solutions.
Miao started his investment banking career with Redwood Capital Inc., a L.A. based boutique merchant banking firm, having served as the General Manager and Chief Representative from September 2005 to July 2006. Previously, Miao Yang served as expatriate country representative and project manager at China National Overseas Engineering Corporation (COVEC), involved in civil, industrial, export of complete plant projects in Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern countries both on contracting and governmental cooperation basis. He was also involved in domestic construction projects including the China National Grand Theater.

Miao received his M.B.A. from the Business School at the University of Aberdeen (U.K.) in 2003, and graduated from Peking University (P.R.C.) with Bachelor’s degree in 1995. Based in Beijing with his family, Miao became one of the sponsors of Peking University Original Music Base in the spring of 2018.

VICTOR CHOW

Victor joins Agem Capital as our Managing Partner in Asia-Pacific, focussing on the venture capital sector.

Victor Chow is a well-known serial entrepreneur based in Singapore. A business coach and senior corporate leader with over 30 years experience working in venture capital, start-ups, telecommunications, ICT, cryptofunds, financial services & blockchain technologies, and most recently turned business investor and mentor.

Victor has held CXO positions across general management, strategic planning, business development, sales, marketing and global operations management in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America.
Most recently, he is the CEO of SmartFunding, a Singapore MAS-regulated Capital Market Services licensed Peer-to-Peer lending company. He was previously the Founding CEO of Singapore-based Fintech Accelerator INSPIRASIA and was Head of Asia for Life.SREDA VC Fintech-focused fund.

He was most renowned in the IT industry for his contributions as the Global Chief Operating Officer COO for Cloud Computing and NextGen Data Centers of Huawei Technologies, a leading global information and communications technology company based in Shenzhen China.

Victor holds a post-graduate qualification in China Business Management from Shanghai's Jiao Tong University and a Masters of Business (MBA) in Marketing from University of Leicester, United Kingdom.

SHAWN JEE
(CAIA, FRM)

Shawn is our strategic Partner in the South Korean institutional capital market.

Prior to his tenure at Agem Capital, as an institutional portfolio manager, Shawn established the overseas investment process and portfolio of Lotte Insurance, a major South Korean insurance company. Previously Shawn developed the investible hedge fund universe at Mirae Asset Global Investments, one of the largest South Korean institutional asset management firms based in Seoul.

After his master's studies he worked as a quant trader based in Chicago. He also worked for Woori Investment Securities at the derivatives electronic client service and
previously for Shinhan Investment Corp. as an investment sales broker and OTC settlement specialist.

Having gained vast experience in responsible roles at several of South Korea's top institutional investors, major insurance and asset management organisations as well as at prime securities trading boutiques in portfolio management, risk management, research, securities sales & trading and settlement, more recently Shawn has also been President and CEO of Springflow Investments, a Vancouver, Canada-based corporate finance outfit. His professional background covers asset classes ranging from structured products, real assets, through commodities, open-ended funds, private equity and hedge funds to fixed income and equities.

Shawn holds a Masters Degree (MSc) in Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago.

JOSEPH YAM HOI NG

Based in Hong Kong, Joseph is a senior advisor of the Agem Group.

Equipped with many years of financial and corporate structuring expertise, Joseph founded Joseph Ng & Co., Certified Public Accountants (Practising) in the year 1976. It became a leading regional accounting and corporate consulting firm with branch offices in Guangzhou as well as in Beijing, with the approval of the Ministry of Finance in China.

Joseph was appointed Chief Representative of the Institute of Public Accountants in Australia (IPA) in 2003
for Greater China in charge of membership matters, and in 2005 as Chief Representative in charge of educational affairs for Greater China. The IPA is one of the three legally recognized, prestigious professional bodies for accountants in Australia, representing more than 35,000 members.

Joseph has very extensive experience in working with Chinese corporations, ultra- high-net-worth business owners, financial institutions in the commercial as well as capital markets in both the private and the public sectors, including on government level in the People's Republic of China as well as in Hong Kong SAR. During the course of his extremely successful and productive professional career spanning over 40 years, Joseph has built a truly invaluable "Guanxi", i.e. a vast and powerful network of highly valuable business and investor relationships in China.
